Mary Elizabeth underwent double mastoid surgery at 8:30 this morning at Reading Hospital. It was over by 9:45, but they were not able to see her for a few hours. “We went back for a short time in evening but returned home,” her father wrote, “as nurse was taking good care of M.E. and she was as quiet as they wanted her to be.”
