Professor Lanham hastily listed his professional activities and ended his short entry with, “Got new battery for car today.”

The Reading Times was full of interesting stories, though, as well as an advertisement for the movie Bride of Frankenstein, starring Boris Karloff and Elsa Lanchester (her name was misspelled in the ad), which was beginning a week-long run at a local theatre. This was a sequel to the 1931 hit horror film Frankenstein, which also starred Karloff. The advertisement here was clipped from the Times via newspapers.com.
