Mary Elizabeth’s recurrent ear problem had her father hurrying home between and after classes today. At the doctor’s office, her infected ear had to be lanced again for drainage. “Had little time to do anything else in a proper way,” he lamented.

While the Hamiltons were fretting over their sick baby on Sunday, thousands of Reading residents were flocking to the Reading Public Museum to see the lilacs blooming in its gardens. Paid subscribers can read about this attraction and the present-day museum’s remarkable gardens and activities.
