Professor Hamilton worked most of the morning getting the rooms in his house ready for the painters, but they did not show up. Finally, that evening Mr. Neuroth, the head painter, arrived and apologized for not showing up and promised to come Monday, Sept. 9. He had been compelled to do over another job, which had held him up.
