Lowell wrote the diary entries today and for the next five days. He was quite succinct: “Thelma washed her hair today. Worked in the garden a lot. Put out some radishes and beans. Finished up picture album.” I am guessing this might be a wedding album that they have mentioned occasionally since the beginning of the year. How I would love to see those pictures!

The head of the Selective Service warned that fathers would likely be eligible for the draft beginning around July 1.
