Lowell had worked the 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. shift. He worked in the garden some and then went to bed. While he was sleeping, Thelma baked a birthday cake, which she managed to hide before he awoke. They went uptown for some insecticide after eating their mid-day meal and came home on the St. Charles streetcar with strawberries to eat with their supper. This streetcar is an iconic one because it travels through the Garden District, past Tulane University and Audubon Park. The modern postcard was found on eBay.
