Still keeping the diary today, Lowell complimented Thelma on the “swell” dinner she cooked, using the roast they bought on Saturday. After dinner, they walked over to Audubon Park and spent the afternoon. “Park was full,” he said. This vintage postcard found on eBay shows an elephant at the park zoo.

Their schedules are so topsy-turvy with Lowell’s changing shifts that he said they ate “lunch” that evening and listened to the radio before retiring to bed early.
