Thelma and Lowell's Diary: April 8, 1943
Thelma works on her dress; a second war bond drive begins at the White House
Thelma had taken over writing the diary entries again today. Lowell was back on first shift. She stayed up when he went to work and did some shopping at the meat market and grocery store, then sewed on a dress she was making in the afternoon. “It was real warm out,” she wrote. (The high reported by the Times-Picayune was 82.) “We took a walk before going to bed.”
