Vangy and Thelma continued their quest for a sewing machine, going downtown to “see about” one today. They were making skirts and spent the afternoon sewing until it was time for Thelma to meet her husband downtown to see the movie Action in the North Atlantic. Squeezing writing into the margin of the diary, she wrote, “Ate at Walgreens, window shopped, came home and ate some more. Ha!”
