Thelma did her usual shopping and sewing today, but her purchase list had something different on it: Pepsi-Colas costing 40 cents, about $7 in current money. This was a stand-alone item, not included in “eats,” which says to me it was a luxurious indulgence. They also spent $5 on an anniversary gift, for their first one was coming up.
