Both Lowell and Thelma wrote in the diary today, which gives us a chance to compare their handwriting. Thelma’s is small and neat, Lowell’s is rather rangy with lots of abbreviations. I wonder what kind of “corn” his mother sent? Popcorn?

In her column today, Eleanor Roosevelt wrote of the privations of the British. To read on, you’ll need to be a paid subscriber. This is a good time to upgrade. Another year and a new diary will begin on Jan. 1.
