They buy an alarm clock; Mrs. Roosevelt appalled by 'colored' housing
Lowell was working two shifts today, with an eight-hour break in between. He found time to spend $1.70 on an alarm clock. Maybe it resembled this vintage Westclox beauty, which is being offered on eBay.
