On this Friday night, Thelma and Lowell had a big date, even though he had to work the following day. They went to see the Skating Vanities at the Municipal Auditorium in New Orleans. This is the 1943 program, being offered by a dealer on eBay.

To read on about this extravaganza on roller skates, you will need to be a paid subscriber. It’s a great time to sign up. Not only will you get the full story of what happened to Thelma and Lowell after the diary ends, you will be on the ground floor as I introduce the diary for 2024, that of a Pennsylvania college history professor in 1935. You can also access the archive and read through Thelma and Lowell at your leisure to see what you missed. Treat yourself to some historical fun for Christmas, for only $5 a month or $50 a year. Buy a year’s subscription and I will send you a copy of one of my books.
