Thelma and Lowell went on another spending spree today, buying a dictionary, “underware,” shelf paper, clothespins, Vigoro plant fertilizer, candy, a water bottle, yarn, and another hankie. The bill totaled $4.24, the most expensive purchase being the “underware.”

At home that night, they had a late supper, listened to the radio, and made curtain tieback…
