The young couple went to visit some friends, the Cooks, in the evening, where they played cards. Lowell had to go to work at 10:15 so they left early. While he was at work, Thelma sewed a curtain for their bathroom. Maybe that’s how she used the cloth remnant she bought last week for 35 cents.
