After dinner on this Sunday afternoon, Thelma and Lowell went to the Saenger Theatre to see the newly married Betty Grable in the musical Coney Island. Afterward, they enjoyed a stroll by the river and then came home and made popcorn and lemonade. She didn’t mention the movie, but did mention it was “very warm.”

This colorful movie poster is being offered on eBay. It showcases Miss Grable’s famous legs, which had helped make her the GI’s favorite pin-up girl.

As Thelma cooked dinner, she looked through the Sunday newspaper. Did anything catch her eye? A few things caught mine.
