Thelma and Lowell's Diary: July 22, 1943
They sit on the porch; I share a charming story about the Roosevelts
Thelma and Vangy went to grocery store and treated themselves to some snow balls, which probably took the edge off the heat. In the afternoon, Thelma and Lowell sat on the porch of the house at 1114 Webster Street where they rented their apartment. The picture of the porch as it looks today was found at Redfin. A single family home again, it last sold in 2018 for more than a million dollars.
I give frequent talks at retirement communities and love to hear residents share their stories about encounters with the Roosevelts. To read a charming story I heard last week, you will need to be a paid subscriber. Click below to upgrade.
