They see 'The Youngest Profession': we skim the Sunday Times Picayune

Thelma slept in that Sunday while Lowell worked. “Read the paper, etc.,” she wrote. At 8:30 p.m. she met Lowell at the Loew’s State theater to see a movie called The Youngest Profession, about a pair of dizzy teenage girls collecting autographs from Hollywood celebrities. It included cameo appearances by Lana Turner, Greer Garson, Robert Taylor, William Powell, and Walter Pidgeon. It sounds like pretty thin soup, and Thelma makes no comment about it, but it earned the studio over half a million dollars.
