He mounts a radio antenna; Loretta Young stars in war epic 'China'
Lowell had an industrious day. He put up an aerial to improve reception for their radio, spending sixteen cents on insulators, and tied up the tomato plants in the garden. That evening he went to a movie downtown. This poster from the U.S. Department of Agriculture urged Victory Gardeners to go to war against insects by using pesticides.
