Lowell continues disking; Eleanor Roosevelt is mobbed on a bus and sees a play
Thelma and Lowell, accompanied by his mother and sister Donnabel, went to visit his Aunt Ova that evening. “This afternoon I disked in the west half of the big South field & also some in the field by the barn,” he wrote. Obviously, this was a working vacation for Lowell!
In New York, Eleanor Roosevelt hoped to ride a city bus in anonymity and was instead hounded by autograph-seekers. (The autographed card above is being offered by a dealer on abe.com.)
