Lowell had worked a late shift the night before and while he slept in the morning, Thelma wrote some lettrs and visited with her BFF Vangy. She also baked an apricot pie for dinner. The recipe above, from the March 1946 issue of Good Housekeeping magazine, gives some pie recipes, including a deep-dish prune and apricot pie that somehow doesn’t sound very appealing! Lowell worked in the garden in the afternoon and they listened “to the usual radio programs” in the evening.
