Remember all those clothes Thelma dampened last night? Well, she spent the entire morning ironing them. That evening after supper, she and Lowell walked over to Audubon Park “and ran around on the golf course. (To give me my daily exercise.),” she wrote.

At the White House, President Roosevelt was continuing his meetings with British Prime Minister Winston Churchill, who brought a guest with him today: the former King Edward VIII, known since his abdication as the Duke of Windsor.
