Thelma and Lowell slept late today, as he had worked second shift and she had waited up for him the night before. He went to town to get a haircut, which cost 60 cents (about $10.50 in current dollars — a bargain!). He left for work at 2:20 and she spent the evening sewing and listening to the radio while she waited up for him to come home.
