Lowell got transferred back to MRCR (whatever that is). The couple went to see a movie, most likely the romantic comedy Take a Letter, Darling, starring Fred MacMurray and Rosalind Russell, playing at the Prytania, or Sweet Rosie O’Grady, a musical with Betty Grable, Robert Young, and Adolph Menjoy, playing at the Seanger. The poster for the latter, being offered on eBay, showcases Grable’s celebrated legs.

Both offered escapist fare and gave theater-goers an alternative to gritty war films such as the new Humphrey Bogarat vehicle Sahara, which cast Bogey as an American tank commander in North Africa. It got great reviews, by the way.
