Lowell wrote today that Thelma met him downtown and they did some more Christmas shopping, buying gifts for his sister Donnabel and someone named Chuck. They spent $5.05 on each present, the equivalent of $89 apiece today.

President Roosevelt’s cousin Daisy mused on his voyage to the Cairo Conference, and there was a new development in the case of the murdered butcher. The vintage postcard of the Sphinx and the pyramids is being offered on eBay.
