It was Sunday. Lowell had the day off and said he “laid around and slept all day.” That evening he and Thelma saw an Abbott and Costello picture at the Liberty Theatre. This photo of the Liberty, being offered on eBay, dates to 1935 and the picture showing then was The Rainmakers, starring Bert Woolsey, Dorothy Lee, and Robert Woolsey. Notice that Morton Salt had taken advantage of the film’s title to advertise its product with the famous slogan “When it Rains it Pours.”
