They ride bikes in Audubon Park; bonded whiskey makers urge war bonds
Again working the night shift, Lowell came home with breakfast rolls which they ate as they talked. After he had slept a few hours, the couple had lunch and then walked over to Audubon Park and rented bicyles for 50 cents, riding all over the park. This vintage postcard of the park’s Avenue of Oaks is being offered on eBay. Looks like there were lots of nice benches for resting if they got too pooped to pedal.
In the local news, New Orleans garbage workers walked off the job again, and pre-Pearl Harbor fathers of draft age were warned today was the last day to find work in “essential” occupations to avoid being called up on October 1.
