It rained and stormed again all day in New Orleans, so Thelma and Lowell stayed home and tuned into a football game on the radio this Saturday afternoon. With many college football programs on hiatus during the war because so many young men were in the service, the three games on the radio that afternoon matched up college teams with military base teams.
