The only expense listed on this fall Saturday other than the usual rides and eats was “Pepsodent,” which cost 40 cents. That’s a rather astonishing $7 in current funds. Heck, a tube of Pepsodent today costs barely a dollar. It’s one of the great bargains in the toothpaste section, if you can find a store that carries it. Like me, you may be able to remember the jingle, “You’ll wonder where the yellow went, when you brush your teeth with Pepsodent.” If not, click below to see a television ad from the 1950s.
