Lowell went uptown to get his hair cut while Thelma cleaned the house and got dinner ready. They took a walk in Audubon Park before he left for work. Her neighbor and BFF Vangie was having problems with her refrigerator, so while the repair men worked on it, she visited with Thelma. This ad for a refrigerator that appeared in Ladies Home Journal in 1932 may give us an idea of what Vangie’s ‘fridge looked like. They were built to last back then, unlike today! The ad is being offered on eBay.
