Lowell was working the night shift again tonight so he slept during the morning. They went to Audubon Park in the afternoon and then to the Prytania Theatre that night to see the crime drama The Glass Key, the newest film featuring Veronica Lake. It was her second pairing in a film with Alan Ladd, and very successful at the box office. You will notice Veronica is wearing her peek-a-boo hairstyle in this advertisement. (If you miss the reference, see yesterday’s diary posting). They came home to drink coffee (hope hers was de-caf!) and eat cookies before Lowell went to work the 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. shift.
